Job Description

As a senior software developer at Western Reserve Group you will:

• Work closely with the business customer to define product functionality and deliver cutting-edge product breakthroughs
• Take a hands-on approach while defining application architecture, development process and tools
• Participate in all phases of the development process

Experience and Skills

Western Reserve Group will consider candidate who have:

• A bachelors degree in computer science or management information system from an accredited four-year college or university
• Fluency in the Java or C# language and the associated platform (J2EE, .Net)
• Experience with application frameworks such as Spring, Struts and Ruby on Rails
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or 2005
• Experience in making positive contributions in a team environment
• A diligent work ethic and the discipline to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate solutions to our internal customers and our agent partners

Preferred Experience

Western Reserve Group will give priority consideration to candidates who have one of the following:

• Insurance industry application development experience
• Experience designing, building and testing highly usable websites
• Experience building and in particular, consuming web services
• Experience working with agile development teams
• Experience in "test-first" development practices and automated unit testing
• Background in Ruby
• Background in ETL and reporting systems
