Web Developer

Western Reserve Group is beginning a series of projects to replace the current agent facing web applications. The new applications will be developed using the Microsoft .Net technology. We are in need of an additional junior to mid-level web developer to join our agile development team, which will work closely with our business customers to develop, test and deliver these new applications. The person hired for this position must be a strong team player with solid .Net skills.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Designing, coding and unit testing web based functionality using the C# and ASP.Net web forms
  • Working closely with the team to understand business processes and developing the supporting web based functionality
  • Participating in all phases of the development process

The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or management information systems from an accredited four-year college or university or comparable experience
  • Two to four years of experience programming with .Net and C# on web applications
  • Experience making positive contributions in a team environment
  • A diligent work ethic and the discipline to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate solutions to our internal customers and our agent partners

Priority consideration will be given to candidates with the following attributes:

  • Insurance industry application development experience
  • Experience with the Microsoft .Net 3.5 Framework
  • Experience with Visual Studio 2008 and SQL Server 2008
  • Experience building and consuming web services
  • Experience working on an agile development team
  • Experience with TDD and continuous integration development practices
